Healthy & Delicious Food as Mother Nature Intended

Modern agriculture has endeavoured to alter the landscape for better returns at a heavy cost to the environment and often the produce itself. At MIZU Ecofarms we are in the early stages of creating a sustainable ecosystem within MIZU Pods (shipping containers) that can be dropped on site in local or remote areas to supply kitchens with high quality vegetables, which are free from pesticides and nasty chemicals. These MIZU Pods are designed to grow high quality vegetables using high density vertical farming techniques that focus on converting biowaste into high quality vegetables. Being a closed-loop system helps reduce water usage, waste and environmental pollution, while also locking up carbon. This could help you achieve some environmental offsets that may contribute to your ESG obligations. â€‹

Would you like to help us?

We are currently searching for investors who have a passion for sustainability and would like to help us achieve our mission.

Our system is based around the fundamentals of nature - biowaste, insects, microorganisms, fish and plants - to help you grow delicious, high quality herbs & vegetables.

Like blood in our bodies that carries oxygen and vital nutrients to every cell within our system, we use water ‘MIZU’ to carry oxygen and vital nutrients to the plants and fish within our ecosystem.

MIZU Ecosystem Model

1 Biowaste

Reclaimed Food Waste

Waste sourced from local restaurants or primary producers is at the start of our system. Insects breakdown this waste and create insect protein.

2 Feed Stock

Protein Food Pellets

Insects and larvae, along with other minerals and nutrients, are turned into fish food pellets. Fish consume the pellets and excrete ammonia along with other solid waste.

3 Filtration

Nutrient Production

Ammonia is converted to nitrates and the remaining fish waste along with seaweed, iron and molasses are mineralised to release nutrients.

4 Plant Stock

Plant. Grow. Harvest.

Plants consume the nitrates and nutrients to grow until ready for harvest, at the same time cleaning the water, which is returned for the fish.

5 Consume

At Your Convenience

Planted seasonally and harvested weekly, produce is available to local onsite kitchens, or delivered fresh to a local market ready for you to eat.

Leafy green

Delicious, premium produce...

You will find herbs and vegetables are crisp, bright and packed full of flavour. Ready for you to consume with your favourite meals.

Better for you and the planet...

We use natural processes and beneficial bugs to control diseases and pests, never using pesticides or hormones in the system and no nasty fertilisers.

Not wasting waste...

The process of decay is present in all the natural cycles on earth, but is often prevalent at waste disposal sites. We can redirect food waste to insect farms, where insect larvae convert the waste into insect protein. The result is insect protein fish pellets that are used to charge the system with nutrients.

MIZU Ecofarms is going back to first principles to create a natural ecosystem, which takes time, patience and requires a lot of testing. Our focus is to create an aquaponics system that operates within a shipping container (MIZU Pods). These MIZU Pods will produce a small range of premium herbs and leafy green vegetables, starting with one or two varieties and gradually adding more as the system develops, and as the seasons change.
